Prior to his deportation, Ezekiel was invisible; he was just another scholar waiting his turn to serve in the priesthood. His days were likely filled with the normal activities of preparing for the priesthood, and had everything gone exactly as Ezekiel planned, we likely would have never heard of him. He would have joined the ranks of countless anonymous priests who served Yahweh in his temple. Instead, the political circumstances of his day and his encounter with the ineffable wonder of God’s chariot throne propelled him into the pages of sacred scriptures.

She envisions the day her foot slips into the glass slipper & the prince sweeps her up in his arms and flies away with her on his white horse. Cinderella’s glass slipper transformed her into a princess. In Ezekiel 16:10 God put shoes on the feet of his bride when he when he chose her from the roadside to become his queen and in Luke 15:22 he placed shoes on his prodigal son when came home. In God’s Word shoes are symbol of beauty, style and empowerment. God designed the perfect pair of slippers for our aching souls as well.

Think of how low morale would be if coaches and team captains stopped giving pep talks! Now think of all the encouragement and motivation folks around you need. More than likely, your feet help carry more than the groceries. Do your feet also carry positive words and good news? Be the person who speaks blessing and affirmation, and you will see a noticeable difference in the countenance of others who are touched by your involvement in their lives.
